Three Famous Christmas Markets, Nürnberg, Munich, and Salzburg 

On this trip we will visit and explore the two earliest Christmas Markets in the world, Nürnberg and Munich, as well as the historic romantic city of Salzburg.

Day 1 Dec 11 – Arrival day – After meeting at Munich Airport, we’ll begin our two hour journey to Nürnberg in Bavaria, Germany, one of the most famous Christmas Market in the world, as well as the birthplace of Gingerbread. We’ll check into our hotel and freshen up after our long flights. After dinner, the rest of the evening is yours to explore or you may opt to rest up for the adventures awaiting ahead.

Day 2 – Today we’ll explore the “old city” and the famous Christmas Market dated as far back as 1631. As we enjoy a beautiful festive walk through the markets, we’ll meet up with a professional walking guide who will share the nuggets of Nürnberg’s rich history. We’ll round off a full day with dinner.

Day 3 – After breakfast, we’ll check out and head to Munich for yet another famous Christmas Market in the historic Merin Platz Square in the “Old Town” of Munich. Home to the very first Christmas Market in 1301. We will stroll through the market and stop for some traditional “Gluhwien” mulled wine, with non-alcoholic options as well. We’ll round off our day dinning at my favorite “local” traditional Barvarian Brew House,
Nuernberger Bratwurst Gloeckl am Dom.

Day 4 – For our final full day in Munich, we’ll enjoy a breakfast buffet before heading to Merin Platz Square and Munich’s famous streets filled with upscale shopping. Munich offers lots of shopping opportunities we can explore. Then we’ll head over to the Tollwood Festival and experience “A Feast for the Senses,” with a fantastic Christmas Market, music and performances, international arts and crafts and organic delicacies from all over the world.

Day 5 – After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll check out and head to the Romantic City of Salzburg. Once checked in, we’ll spend the rest of the afternoon taking in this romantic city during the Christmas Season. Late afternoon, we’ll take a taxi 10 minutes to the beautiful Christmas Market at Hellbrunn. We’ll enjoy the traditional foods in the Market before a final stroll.

 Day 6 – After breakfast we will walk through Salzburg. We will take in the architecture, including the house where Mozart was born, visit the original Abby from the “Sound of Music” among other sites. There are a variety of cafes and restaurants to take a break for a snack or lunch. One of my favorite stops is The Hotel Sacher for a slice of the original Sacher-Torte and a cappuccino. For dinner, we’ll dine at a traditional favorite restaurant of mine in the “Old City,” The Elephant.

Day 7 – For our final day in Salzburg, we’ll enjoy a breakfast buffet and some final shopping before heading back to Munich where we will stay at The Hilton Airport Hotel. Here you are on your own to relax at the spa and dine as you wish.

 Day 8 Dec 18 – As our time together sadly comes to an end, you can roll out the door to your terminal and flight home.
